Conformationally constrained amino acids are widely used in the design of peptide analogues with better pharmacokinetic properties. One of the methods of peptide modification is the introduction of a,b-dehydroamino acid residues into peptide chain. The double bond Ca=Cb constrains side chain and enables occurrence of geometrical isomerism Z/E. The other type of...

Solution equilibrium studies on the Mg(II)/Ca(II)-L systems (L= (cyclohexyl)aminomethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid (1), azepan-1-yl-methane-1,1-diphosphonic acid (2), azecan-1-yl-methane1,1-diphosphonic acid (3) have been performed by pH-potentiometry, NMR and ESI-MS methods. The obtained results suggest preference for the formation of mononuclear complexes of 1:1...

Application of butane-2,3-diacetals in the synthesis of optically active natural products

Application of butane-2,3-diacetals in the synthesis of optically active natural products
WACŁAWCZYK-BIEDROŃ W., DROP A., FRĄCKOWIAK-WOJTASEK B.

Please cite as: CHEMIK 2014, 68, 4, 304–311

Butane diacetals (BDAs) are stable, optically active building blocks used in the synthesis of natural products. They can be synthesized from cheap substrates such as: D-mannitol, L-ascorbic acid, dimethyl L-tartrate and dimethyl D-tartrate. The rigid structure of butane diacetals makes possible their application in asymmetric synthesis. The article...

Attempts of activating carboxylic group of 3-amine- 1-Hpyrazole-5-carboxylic acid using azide method

Attempts of activating carboxylic group of 3-amine- 1-Hpyrazole-5-carboxylic acid using azide method
KUSAKIEWICZ-DAWIDd A., MASIUKIEWICZ E.

Please cite as: CHEMIK 2014, 68, 4, 296–303

The method was developed for linking 3-acetamido-5-carboxy1H-pyrazole with protein amino acid from C-end without necessity to protect side functional groups of pyrazole ring by means of azide activation. In the model reaction Na-(3-acetamido-5-carbonyl-1Hpyrazole)glycine methyl ester was synthesized.

Keywords: aminopyrazole, peptide hybrids, azide method
