Porous materials have been recently considered as promising carriers of active compounds. In this work silica structures of SBA-15 type modified with niobium and organic groups are proposed as potential ibuprofen carriers. To confirm the presence of drug inside the material FT-IR and DRUV-Vis spectroscopies are used. Additionally, the ibuprofen release profile has been determined by spectroscopic measurement of drug amount in a buffer solution.
